Whether it’s hardware, like smartphones, processors, or virtual reality headsets; software, like the apps we love or artificial intelligence chatbots; or the platforms we use to communicate, learn, and share parts of our lives, technology continues to change humanity daily — for better or for worse.

And the news cycle that accompanies this changing landscape never ends. Meta announcing Threads, the fastest-growing consumer product in history; Sam Altman being ousted from OpenAI as its chief executive, then being reinstated a mere weekend later; Elon Musk buying Twitter for $44 billion, then running it into the ground months later by inviting previously suspended users back on the platform, causing advertisers to flee; Apple announcing groundbreaking mobile silicon in their desktop and laptop computers, stunning the world with Apple silicon’s power, capability, and efficiency; and so on, technology never stops moving forward.

This blog is meant to put two-and-two together; to connect these news stories and product launches with our changing society — all in a nerdy, witty, entertaining way. Each story is fun to read, engaging, and leaves you learning something new. The news will continue to break, but it’s as important to analyze our landscape, look to the past, and predict the future. Technology is made by humans for humans — and so is this blog. It covers the intersection of technology and society.

Most pieces here fall into three categories: event coverage, news analysis, and product reviews. Event coverage covers the latest as it happens, news analysis takes a step back and helps you understand what’s going on in our world, and product views are long-form journals about recently released technology that I’ve tested for myself. News analysis is easily the most common, and pieces vary drastically in length.

Technology, like any other subject, is opinionated. We all have our differences in the way we perceive technology, the Big Tech companies that make it, and the governing bodies that regulate it. This blog highlights my lens — the way I think about and perceive technology. And I encourage you to follow along. It’s technology journalism, but with opinions.
